The Ironside coal bunker is the 'middle-size' in our range of bunkers. It is made from galvanised steel (22 /24g)and supplied flat-packed. As with all our galvinised coal bunkers it has an extremely solid base a hinged lid and features a small door on the front face to allow easy access to your fuel. Above the door is a 'deflector' which prevents the build-up of coals against the door. This product is designed for everyday use so is strong robust and highly durable.

Please note the capacity (250kg 4.9 cwt) is based on ordinary domestic coal other fuels do vary in size so it is best to contact your fuel supplier with the dimensions of this bunker to clarify how much of the fuel you use it will take. You can find out what variety of fuel is suitable to burn in your local area at the following site:

Please note -- Bunkers are self assembly and easily put together. We would advise the following the instructions below closely.

When delivered your coal bunker should contain the following

1 x Front Panel (Part A)

2 x Side Panels (Part B)

1 x Back Panel with Lid (Part C)

1 x Base Pannel (Part D)

1 x Sliding Door

17 x Nuts and Bolts

2 x Corner Plates

PLEASE NOTE: When following Instructions 1 & 2 please ensure that all seams are locked together correctly - Otherwise seams will open up when the bunker is filled with fuel. Image 2 shows how the tongue and groove system should look when fitted correctly. If ends of seams are flattened during transit please open up slightly for easier and assembly. If you fill your coal bunker with out the tongue and groove system properly in place the sides will open. You will need to empty the coal bunker and rebuild it.

(1) Slide Back and Lid section C into the two Sides B.

(2) Slide Front section A into the two Side sections B.

(3) Bolt into place the two corner plates at the two front corners, fixing the middle bolt first.

(4) Fix the two bolts in place at the two back corners.

Affordable Coal Bunker
The coal bunker arrived quickly as promised. We built it the same day, the instructions are fairly easy to follow although there was some faffing making sure all the seams were connected properly.

Once up the coal bunker is appeared quite easy to use, the metal is quite thin so will see how long it lasts.
