Fire Trims

Fire trims have to fit snugly into the opening of the fire so you need to take the height and width of the fireplace opening together with the face (the width of the trim shown inside the room / when looking directly at the fire), and the return (how far back toward the back wall of the fire the trim goes) so it may go round both side of the corner.
Alternatively you may decide on no return and have a face width only. Fitting the Fire Frames / Fire trims is made much easier with the help of high heat silicone, and or magnetic strips. As well as giving good grip, the silicone copes well with the different thermal expansion behavior of different materials. Fire trims are available as traditional 3 sided or ‘hole in the wall’ style 4 sided i.e. raised off the ground in an opening in the wall.
