We recommend the use of a fireguard at all times when the fire is burning to ensure no sparks escape from the fire. It is extremely important that a guard be used when a room with a burning fire is left unattended. The fireguard is an essential piece of safety equipment in more ways than you would expect; many of our customers purchase guards to prevent family pets, particularly cats, from climbing up the chimney!

Coal Buckets, Hods, Log baskets, Coal bunkers and Fuels
From the basic and functional look of the galvanised range, such as the classic galvanised bucket, to the most elegant of brass coal buckets there is something to suit everyone's taste and décor.
We also have a number of log baskets or holders for fire logs, and coal bunkers for bulk storage of solid fuel. Our log baskets and log holders are designed to aesthetically enhance the fireside storage of your logs. While very decorative and pleasing to look at, they are all are strong and robust enough to allow logs to be tipped into them. Should you live within the postcode of NE2 or NE3 our service extends to supply and delivery of your solid fuel or logs.

Fire Frets
Designed to enhance the appearance of your real fire with function in mind, The Fireside Shop fire fret range will prevent fuel from falling off your fire grate.
Again we have an extensive range to suit many tastes and our fire fret designs cover everything from the classic Victorian era to modern contemporary design. While we try to give as many dimensions as possible to help you chose a fire fret that will fit your fire, should you for any reason find that the fret you ordered is not suitable, you are welcome to return it*.

Fire Grates
As the place where your fuel burns, the grate is the most essential part of a solid fuel fire!
Over the years we have sourced a very extensive range of fire grates. Fire grates have to take a lot of abuse in their lifetime as well as survive extreme temperatures, so are very solidly built. It is extremely important that you get the right size grate first time round as they are very heavy when it comes to returns. The above diagram illustrates the dimensions you require and how to measure your grate. We often encourage customers to make a cardboard template of their fires and send it to us so we can help them select the best fitting grate for their fire.

Ash Pans, Ash Carriers, Ash Bins
The Fireside Shop has a very extensive range of fire ash pans. In the unlikely event that you can not find the size you are looking for, then we can offer you a made to measure ash pan service.
We also stock ash carriers and ash bins. Ash carriers are designed to take the ash directly from your ash pan in order to dispose of it cleanly and efficiently, without the risk of spillage. Our ash bins have been designed to store hot ashes direct from a hot fire. These bins come with a fixed lid.
